Habitat LA can provide low-income homeowners with low-cost home repairs to address health, safety, and security issues in and around the home or to improve energy efficiency. Each program has different requirements and eligible repairs, which are subject to change. Each year, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA) partners with low-income homeowners to provide critical health and safety repairs to the interior and exterior of their homes. To determine if they qualify, homeowners must submit a complete program application along with documentation to establish their eligibility.

Appliances, insulation, and hardwood flooring are just a few of the things that companies have donated to make a Habitat house a home. Habitat ReStores divert hundreds of tons from landfills each year, accepting hard-to-dispose-of items including new and used furniture, appliances and surplus building materials. Sales of donated items help Habitat for Humanity partner with local families to build, rehabilitate and repair safe and affordable homes in your community and around the world — a good deal for you, your community and the environment. Together, we can help families achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build a better future while creating stronger neighborhoods. Habitat ReStores are independently owned reuse stores operated by local Habitat for Humanity organizations. ReStores accept donations and sell a constantly changing inventory of diverse, high-quality merchandise to the public at a fraction of the retail price, while diverting reusable household items and building materials from area landfills.
Since many homes in Hungary lack insulation, the country’s cold winters often result in high heating costs for families. Habitat’s work here — and throughout Europe — includes insulating and repairing homes to make them cozier and energy-efficient. In addition to advocacy work, we build, renovate and repair hundreds of homes all across California. Habitat is helping to close the housing and wealth gap in California through affordable ownership and home preservation. As the housing crisis in California has only grown worse, with every county facing a housing shortage, affordable ownership solutions are essential to increasing housing supply, wealth and racial equity.
